The Veterans Council of Indian River County (VCIRC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Cynthia Ryan as their new Executive Director. Ryan replaces Jim Romanek, who has served as Executive Director since 2019.
As the first female and first civilian Executive Director, Ryan returns to the Veterans Council with additional education in Public Policy and Non-profit Administration and will graduate in December 2022 with her Master’s Degree from the University of Miami.
Ryan previously served as the Veterans Council Director of Development from 2020 to 2021, working on increasing community collaborations and planning and supporting events for the Veterans Council and the veteran community.
In the Executive Director role, Ryan will increase the council’s focus on building community and donor relationships while growing services to Veterans and their families.
Ryan has been a resident of Indian River County since 1994.
“We are very excited to be welcoming Cynthia back to the Veterans Council in the role of Executive Director.” says Board President, Fr Dave Newhart, Air Force Veteran.
“Cynthia has already demonstrated her many strengths during her time as Director of Development. The Board and Staff look forward to Cynthia’s positive can-do attitude and her productive impact on the Veterans Council,” Newhart added.
“As a civilian coming from a family having a collective 200 years of military service, I have a deep appreciation for our veterans and their service to our country. I am both excited and humbled to work with our veteran community and their families.” says Ryan.
“I have a strong desire to further the Council’s mission, vision and impact,” Ryan added.
