VERO BEACH – Ever since Elite Airways reduced its operations in Naples and moved their operations to Vero Beach, they have been experiencing high demand.
Elite Airways announced that it will add more flights to White Plains, New York, from Vero Beach Regional Airport beginning Dec. 21.
The flights to the New York airport are approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes and will run Thursday and Sunday through Jan. 4.
Elite Airways President John Pearsall said that if the flights do well, they will make it a permanent schedule.
The airline continues with it’s popular nonstop flights to New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport. These flights will increase to four times a week starting in November.
White Plains is a smaller airport that’s only 24 miles north of midtown Manhattan, which is one of the most requested destinations for local fliers.
“Nonstop jet service is a travel time-saver and eliminates the need for connections — both of which contribute to a more enjoyable flying experience,” Elite Airways President John Pearsall said in a statement.
Early bird fares will start at $199 each way. Departures are 2:15 p.m. from Vero Beach; 5:45 p.m. from White Plains.
Maine-based Elite returned to Vero Beach to offer commercial flights in December 2015 after 20 years. In March, the air carrier began seasonal flights to Ashville, N.C. Those flights have temporarily ended until spring 2018.
