On Friday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has thrown his support behind Indian River County Sheriff Eric Flowers.
“I am honored to have the support of our Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. He has been an amazing supporter of our Deputy Sheriffs and Sheriffs around the state and knows that we stand together in supporting the heroes that protect us every day,” Flowers told Sebastian Daily.
Flowers said that since taking office, he has transitioned the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office into a 21st Century law enforcement agency with a renewed focus on public safety, customer service, employee care, and efficiency.
“Through the combined efforts of the agency members and leaders along with our community partners, we have accomplished countless initiatives and modernized our approach to crime fighting. These have included improvements in law enforcement and corrections as well as innovative new ways to care for and train our employees to ensure they are always ready when you need them,” Flowers said.
Deborah Cooney, Milo Thornton, and Keith Touchberry are also running for Indian River County Sheriff. The Republican primary for the Indian River County Sheriff is scheduled for August 20, 2023.
