Free Income Tax Preparation Assistance by United Way of Indian River County

The United Way of Indian River County, in partnership with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, provides complimentary tax preparation and e-filing services to eligible residents whose annual household income is $64,000 or less.

Hardworking families could potentially overlook valuable tax credits if they lack support in filing their tax returns. The United Way VITA volunteers, who receive annual IRS training and certification, offer complimentary tax return preparation with electronic filing for eligible individuals in Indian River County. Furthermore, these tax preparers ensure taxpayers receive the credits they are entitled to, including the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, and Credit for the Elderly or Disabled.

To schedule an appointment, visit UnitedWayIRC.org/taxes or call (772) 203-5766. Tax filing services will commence on Thursday, February 1st. Clients are required to bring essential documents, including a valid photo ID, social security card (or ITIN card) for all individuals listed on the tax return, a copy of their 2022 tax return if already filed, and any other pertinent tax-related paperwork.
