VERO BEACH – Indian River County Property Appraiser Wesley Davis released the June 1 ,2019 estimated taxable value to the Indian River County Taxing Authorities on Wednesday May 29,2019.
“I am pleased to announce that Indian River County’s overall taxable value is up 4.8% over last years final, or approximately $1,4000,000,000 (1.4 Billion Dollars),” Davis announced.
“Indian River County Property values have increased steadily over the past several years” Davis reported. “I am pleased that the County continues to progress and prosper. This is paradise and everyone knows it. It shows in these increasing values.”
The Property Appraisers estimates are used to begin the budget process for all Indian River County’s Taxing Authorities.
“The Property Appraisers estimates are the first step leading to the annual TRIM notice. TRIM notices show taxpayers what they might expect to pay in taxes.”, said Davis
TRIM which stands “Truth In Millage” is the time for all taxpayers to review their taxable value and make sure they have received all the exemptions to which they are entitled.
“Some people do not realize how important it is to carefully review their TRIM notices when they are received in early August.” said Davis.
“The Property Appraisers office does not set taxes”, said Davis. “That’s up to your elected officials and appointed boards.” However, I think those authorities will see this estimate as good news” Davis said.
If anyone has any questions feel free to call the Property Appraisers office at 772-226-1469 or stop by our Main office at the Vero Beach Administration Complex, 1800 27th St, on US 1 in Sebastian or the new Oceanside location at 3003 Cardinal Drive on Vero’s Beach and tell them “Wesley sent me.”
