United Way proudly announces the launch of the Jeffrey R. Smith Access to Justice Self-Help Centers in Indian River County. This initiative is a collaborative venture involving United Way, the Clerk of Court, local judiciary, and the county government.

The centers, located at the courthouse and United Against Poverty, are designed to assist residents with issues such as landlord/tenant disputes, small claims, and family law matters.

The recent opening ceremony featured key community and legal figures, highlighting the significant positive impact these centers are expected to have on the local justice system.

Marking a forward-thinking move, Indian River County has integrated Legal Kiosk technology into these centers, thereby broadening community access.

The Self-Help Centers offer flexible operating hours, user-friendly legal kiosks, budget-friendly Zoom consultations, and the capability for remote participation in hearings.

This development represents a significant step in making legal assistance more accessible and user-friendly for the residents of Indian River County.
