Publix Supermarkets are posting friendly reminders to their shoppers about its no-pet policy by posting signs at the entrance of all their stores across Florida.

So, if you’re considering taking your furry friend on your next grocery run, and they’re not a service animal, you might want to think again!

According to the company website: “We ask that non-service animals be removed from the premises. We also ask that service animals that are out of control, pose a threat to health or safety, or are not housebroken be removed from the premises. The individual may continue to shop at the store without the animal. Publix will gladly provide personal shopping assistance to such an individual upon request.”

This policy is all about keeping both shoppers and pets safe. In addition to health concerns, stores can be busy places with many people and shopping carts, which might not be the best environment for our four-legged friends.

In addition, some people might be allergic to certain animals, and it’s important to consider their health too.

So next time you’re headed to Publix, remember to give your pet a little extra love at home and keep them safe by leaving them behind. They’ll be waiting with wagging tails or purrs when you get back!

Publix’s service animal policy can be found on its website.
