Starting today, barbershops and nails salons in Sebastian can reopen with “enhanced safety protocols,” according to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Barbers, cosmetologists, facial specialists, nail specialists, hair braiders, hair wrappers, and body wrappers are allowed to reopen their businesses.
Businesses with these licenses are permitted to perform the barbering or cosmetology services as authorized by their respective license or registration.
Barbers and nail salons will be available on an appointment-only schedule and must allow at least 15 minutes between patrons for disinfecting measures. The order does not allow group appointments.
Gatherings at barbers and salons are prohibited, and they must limit groups in waiting areas to promote social distancing. It is recommended that customers wait outside or in their vehicle until an available service station is properly cleaned.
Items such as magazines, newspapers, and other paper products must be removed from the shops.
Also, until further notice, a mask must be worn by an employee while providing personal services in the barbershop or salon.
Barbershops and nail salons are encouraged to consider providing unworn masks to clients for use during their appointment.
