Bars and other businesses in Sebastian will reopen Friday as Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis begins Phase 2.
Under Phase 2, 64 counties will open bars, movie theaters, and other entertainment venues to restart the local economy.
“We ask people to acknowledge social distancing and to be safe. Please support our local businesses if you can as it has been a difficult time for all of them,” Sebastian City Manager Paul Carlisle told Sebastian Daily.
Carlisle warned that coronavirus is still a significant threat.
The executive order will allow bars to open at 50% capacity indoors, and at full capacity outdoors with the proper social distancing of 6 feet between tables.
Movie theaters, bowling alleys, and concert halls can also open at 50% capacity, with social distancing.
Restaurants are still at 50% capacity as long as they have room to practice social distancing. Restaurants and bars can serve with chairs at least 6 feet apart.
