Sebastian City Manager Paul Carlisle has rescheduled Wednesday’s City Council budget-only meeting for Friday at 5:00 p.m. due to flooding by Hurricane Ian.
Carlisle is asking residents to remain home due to flooding caused by Hurricane Ian. The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office has also asked county residents to stay home.
City of Sebastian crews are out clearing ditches and culverts to help with the flooding.
The county announced that the causeway will stay open but will close during tropical storm force winds. We can expect those winds beginning this afternoon.
The county is opening emergency shelters today in Sebastian and Vero Beach.
Some portions of northern Brevard County are under a hurricane warning.
