On Friday, City Manager Brian Benton notified Sebastian Daily about upcoming railroad crossing closures due to Brightline construction.
The Florida East Coast Railroad (FEC) said the railroad crossing closures are from an unexpected incident with Brightline.
The FEC expressed regret, stating, “We sincerely apologize for the short notice and inconvenience” and Brightline is absorbing the costs for these closures to make repairs.
Here are the details of the railroad crossing shutdowns:
- October 25-30 – Sebastian Boulevard (CR-512) Railroad Crossing will be closed for both east and westbound traffic.
- November 15-20 – Main Street Railroad Crossing will be closed for both east and eastbound traffic.
City of Sebastian officials urge residents to be aware of these dates and to use alternate routes.
Sebastian Daily will keep you updated.
