VERO BEACH – Many people who live in Sebastian and Vero Beach are seen driving the 2017 Kia Soul car because of its price and distinctive look.
We went to Kia of Vero Beach to look at the Soul. We noticed the massive cargo space, great interior, and the passenger room.
The only problem we had with this car was the engine and the fuel economy. However, the car still gets 24-36 mpg in town, and 30-31 mph on the highway.
On the other hand, the performance was better than a lot of compact cars we’ve tested.
The biggest surprise were the safety ratings. You can’t go wrong with five stars from the 5 National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The Kia Soul has done quite well over the years with safety ratings.
Most notable for 2017 is the new turbocharged engine. Also, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are now available. There is also a slight change in its external design.
You should buy the Soul if you’re looking for a small car that’s affordable, reliable, safe, and spacious. It’s one of the cheapest vehicles you can buy right now. The features are endless.
Driving from Vero Beach to Sebastian in this car was enjoyable. It has a touch-screen display and a rearview camera.
The Kia Soul’s MSRP starts at $16,000. Where else can you get a brand new compact car, with a five-star safety rating, features, and in a hatchback for $16,000? You probably could find something similar, such as the Nissan Versa for less, but that’s a different class.
The value in the Soul is decent with standard features like Bluetooth, satellite radio, and a USB port. But the car doesn’t have a standard rearview camera. You can upgrade to an automatic transmission for $1,600.
The Kia Soul Exclaim is the top-level trim that starts at $22,650. The standard Soul should be plenty if you need a cheap, reliable car to drive around town.
This car might not be for everyone, and there are other choices out there. But compare this compact car to safety ratings and price.
