The Sebastian River High School Baseball teams recently received a lesson on drinking and driving from the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
On Wednesday, November 3, 2021, the high school hosted Badges to Baseballs, with Sergeant Doug MacKenzie speaking about DUI.
Then, the players got a taste of what it would be like to be under the influence by putting on impairment goggles and trying to hit a baseball. These goggles have been effective in substance abuse awareness and training programs.
An undercover officer also spoke about drug use in our community, its dangers, and careers in law enforcement.
