City of Sebastian’s Natural Resources Board will host its annual Earth Day & Arbor Day Celebration on Saturday, April 22, 2023, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm at Riverview Park in Sebastian.
The Earth Day & Arbor Day Celebration will include:
- Environmental Non-profit organizations
- Waste Management Shredding Event from 9:00 am -12:00 pm
- Food & Retail Vendors
- Kids Activities: Face Painting, Scavenger Hunt, Poster Art Contest & More
- Live Entertainment/Music
- Lagoon Art Show & Sale: Featuring the Sebastian River Art Club
- Help Build a “Living Dock” from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
- Door Prizes & Raffles
Entertainment Schedule
- 9:00 am – Arbor Day Proclamation
- 9:15 am – World Tai Chi Day Demonstration
- 10:00 am – Rebecca Mcllvain Performs
- 11:00 am – Mojo Mike Performs
- 12:00 pm – SRHS Jazz Band & Steel Sharks
- 2:00 pm – Winner of Poster Art Contest Announced, followed by Kevin Lureau
- 3:00 pm – The Robert Johnson Band
Living Docks Event – 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
The living docks event will help improve water quality in the Indian River Lagoon by creating oyster mats for the pilings on the city’s docks. If you are interested in volunteering or would like to participate, meet by the Twin Piers across from Riverview Park.

Waste Management Recycling & Spring Cleaning Event
There will be a paper shredding & electronic recycling event at Riverview Park’s CavCorp Parking Lot (next to Speedway) from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, with the longest wait time between 9:00 am – 10:00 am.
All Points Mobile Shredding will be on-site with a drive-thru service. A maximum of three boxes or bags per vehicle, please. This event is for Sebastian residents only, no businesses.
Waste Management will be on-site with a drive-thru service for electronics.

Spring Cleaning Event (for Large Household Items) at Sebastian’s Barber Street Sports Complex
Waste Management will collect unwanted household items at Barber Street Sports Complex, located at 1121 Barber St., on Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. (Football Field parking lot off Tulip Drive)
Household Items WM will collect:
- Household furnishings (couch, mattress, dresser, table, or chairs)
- White goods (household appliances)
- Lawn furniture
- Small BBQ grills (no propane tanks)
- Bicycles
- Solid waste
- Yard waste
- Bulky waste
