The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a family of five from Ft. Lauderdale has been left stranded after their camper caught fire.
“The family had been out swimming on a nearby island and when they returned to camp, found their camper ablaze,” the agency said in a statement.
The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call, as has Red Cross, to provide some assistance for the family. However, the family lacks transport home to Ft. Lauderdale.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help finding a way for the family to get back home.
Anyone willing to help is asked to contact Christine Macchia at (772) 217-0112.
