For The Love Of Paws Senior Pet Sanctuary Inc, located at 12198 County Road 512 in Fellsmere, is committed to purchasing Pet Emergency Pet Oxygen Kits for firehouses in Indian River County.
Ted Pankiewicz, Director of For The Love Of Paws, saw a picture last week showing police and fire rescue resuscitating four dogs that were brought out of a burning home fire. Pankiewicz then contacted County Commissioner Joe Flescher to ask if these oxygen masks for pets were available in Sebastian, Fellsmere, and other firehouses in Indian River County.
“County Commissioner Flescher called me back within an hour and found that we only had 2 in the County, which has 15 firehouses. Flescher had contacted the County Fire Rescue Fire Chief and Battalion Chief who were very receptive to the idea of these Pet Emergency Oxygen Kits being made available in each of our firehouses,” Pankiewicz told Sebastian Daily.
Pankiewicz said For The Love Of Paws has committed to purchasing 15 of these Emergency Pet Oxygen Kits, one for each of our firehouses in Indian River County. He is now scheduled to do a presentation during the County Commissioner Meeting at 9:00 a.m. on August 13th, 2019.
The cost for these Pet Oxygen Masks is $85.00 each with purchase of 12 or more. There is now a fundraiser to help the non-profit organization to help offset the costs. Please visit the Facebook Fundraiser Facebook Fundraiser for more information.
