SEBASTIAN – Individual assistance has been approved by FEMA for people living in Sebastian, Fellsmere, Vero Beach, and unincorporated areas in Indian River County.
If you have experienced damage to your home in Sebastian, Fellsmere, Vero Beach, or other areas in Indian River County as the result of Hurricane Irma, you may qualify for FEMA assistance.
This is a two-step process that begins by submitting a claim to your homeowner’s insurance, if applicable.
Then, apply online at https://www.disasterassistance.gov/ or call 1-800-621-3362; those who have a speech disability or hearing loss and use TTY, should call 1-800-462-7585 directly; for those who use 711 or Video Relay Service (VRS), call 1-800-621-3362.
When you register for disaster assistance either online or by phone, you will need the following to complete your application.
- Social Security number
- Address of the location where the damage occurred (pre-disaster address)
- Current mailing address
- Current telephone number
- Insurance information
- Total household annual income
- Routing and account number for your checking or savings account (this allows FEMA to directly transfer disaster assistance funds into your bank account).
