In preparation for activation of the Indian River County Instructional Provision Plan, they will be stationed at six different school locations, checking out laptops to students who do not have a device at home.
These devices will allow traditional public school students to access assignments and resources while our campuses are closed. One laptop will be permitted per household for the use of all students within the household.
Laptop check-out times and locations:
On Tuesday, March 31st, and Wednesday, April 1st, the six schools listed below will be holding Student Laptop Distribution.
- Citrus Elementary
- Dodgertown Elementary
- Fellsmere Elementary
- Osceola Magnet Elementary
- Sebastian Elementary
- Vero Beach Elementary
Time and dates are as follows:
March 31, 2020
- 9:00 am – 11:00 am – Grade K – 5th
- 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Grades 6th – 8th
- 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm – Grades 9th – 12th
April 1, 2020
- 9:00 am – 11:00 am – Grades 9th – 12th
- 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm – Grades K – 8th
In order to check-out a laptop, an adult contact listed in your student’s FOCUS account must be present with identification. They will be responsible for signing the Emergency Agreement for Student Use of Mobile Devices in English or Spanish. It will explain the requirements and terms of the laptop loan.
Each laptop is an “internet-filtered” device, it has access to content available in the Instructional Provision Plan, and it allows limited internet browsing.
Charter School Students
Charter school students are not eligible for these laptops, as they are only for traditional public school students grades K-12.
