Larry Rubino and Teresa Calhoon passed away four years ago after being hit by a drunk driver on Sebastian Blvd (CR-512).
“Although they are no longer with us, the memories they shared with us will never fade. Four years later we get together for their memorial ride not only to remember them but also to help a cause that was close to their hearts. This year will be to support Autism,” John Rubino, Larry’s son, said in a statement.
Teresa was a caretaker of her eldest daughter with Autism. Larry was a proud member of the Legion Riders, VFW & the Honor Guard.
“He believed all veterans should be honored, remembered, and be together. We invite everyone to come, keep their memory alive, and support a great cause. After the Poker run, there will be food, live music by Southern Heat, raffles, Lottery Board & 50/50 at American Legion Post 189. Please come help celebrate their lives & keep their memory in our hearts,” Rubino said.
Larry was a Vietnam War and Gulf War veteran and one of the responders to the Flight 800 recovery, and he even received a Metal/Award from Vice President Mike Pence. He served as a Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. and a Master SGT in the U.S. Army for 26 years.
