RAD Women Physical Defense Classes

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Sebastian Police Department, is offering free R.A.D. Women and radKids self-defense classes in Sebastian and Vero Beach.

Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.)

The Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) Systems is a comprehensive 12-hour course designed for women aged 13 and up. The course combines lectures, physical defense techniques, and simulation exercises to empower participants with the knowledge and skills to create a safer future for themselves.

Participants will receive a workbook/reference manual that outlines the Physical Defense Program, providing a resource for ongoing personal growth and reference. Additionally, graduates will receive an instructor-signed student manual, granting them access to R.A.D.’s free lifetime return and practice policy.

Classes will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 PM on the following dates and locations:

Attendees aged 13 and up are welcome, but those under 18 must be accompanied by their legal guardian.

The radKids Personal Empowerment Safety Education Program is a life skills curriculum designed to equip children with the necessary skills to recognize, avoid, resist, and, if necessary, escape violence or harm, including the dangers of opioid and other drug abuse.

Since 2001, radKids has been the national leader in children’s safety education. It empowers children and parents by providing knowledge and skills that enhance personal boundaries, critical thinking, and confidence.

The classes will be held from July 8th to 12th at 505 Airport Drive West in Sebastian. Sessions for ages 5-7 will be from 9:00 to 10:30 AM, and sessions for ages 8-12 from 11:00 to 12:30 PM.
