VERO BEACH – Police are currently searching for a man with Alzheimer’s disease in Vero Beach.
Jennings Humphrey, 74, who was last seen about 3:30 a.m. in the area of 25th Avenue and 16th Street.
Vero Beach Police received a call at around 9:00 a.m. about Humphrey’s disappearance.
Police spokeswoman Officer Megan Dewitt said Humphrey was thought to be on foot.
“He just wandered away from home,” Dewitt told Sebastian Daily.
The Indian River’s Sheriff’s Office is also helping with the search by utilizing its helicopter.
Humphrey is deceived as a white man, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He has blue eyes, gray hair and a gray beard.
He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, light-colored carpenter jeans and black tennis shoes.
