United Way of Indian River County is gearing up for its 29th Annual Day of Caring, a day that epitomizes the spirit of volunteerism and community collaboration. This signature event brings together local businesses, nonprofits, and community members for a single day of impactful volunteer work aimed at making a difference in our community.

This year’s Day of Caring will be Saturday, October 26, 2024. It will start with a kick-off breakfast at the newly renovated Holman Stadium at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex. United Way is now calling on organizations to submit their project ideas for this exciting day.

“Day of Caring is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we come together,” said Meredith Egan, CEO of United Way of Indian River County. “We are thrilled to invite organizations to submit projects that will benefit from the enthusiastic support of our community volunteers. This event is more than just a day of service; it’s a chance to build stronger connections and leave a lasting positive impact.”

Participating in the Day of Caring provides organizations with a unique opportunity to:

United Way will support each organization throughout the planning process, from project coordination to volunteer recruitment and logistics, ensuring a smooth and successful event. Organizations do not need to be current United Way partners to apply.

How to Submit Your Project

All nonprofits, churches, and schools in Indian River County are invited to participate in this transformative day. To submit a project, visit United Way’s website at UnitedWayIRC.org/DOC. The submission deadline is Friday, August 30, 2024, so act quickly!
