Elsa, a Haflinger pony who has been the “go-to-pony” for the Special Equestrians of the Treasure Coast for the last 6-years, needs our community’s help.
Like other horses of her breed, Else is known for her calm disposition and compact and sturdy size, perfect for all riders’. She has never let the special needs riders down at the SETC.
Over the past 6-years, Elsa has been the facilities “go-to-pony” during riding lessons for special needs children and adults, the Special Olympics, and their Ride Beyond Diagnosis program that works in partnership with Friends After Diagnosis to provide equine therapy to cancer survivors.
Sadly, she suffers from a lameness issue that has developed complications and will most likely need surgery, which could cost nearly $4,000.
