SEBASTIAN – The Sebastian Clambake Festival has developed a new slogan “America Runs on Clams.”
The clambake for 2017 will return to Riverview Park on Nov. 3 through Nov. 5 to offer program grants for SOS Cookies, Sebastian River High School’s Chum Bucket program, The Prasad food program, the River Fund; United Methodist Church’s Music Camp, the Ecumenical Food Pantry, and the GFWC Sebastian Jr. Woman’s Club’s Science Camp.
Gina Belli won the slogan contest for the second time since 2006. The catchphrase “America Runs on Clams” will be on this year’s clambake T-shirts designed by Sebastian artist Lisanne Robinson.
This year, the Sebastian Clambake received 87 submissions for its slogan contest.
Last year, the members’ council approved new menu choices at the Sebastian Clambake Festival. One of the new items included crab cakes.
“It is wonderful to work together as a community for our community,” Sebastian Clambake Foundation president Anjani Cirillo told Sebastian Daily. “We are very grateful for our Member Organizations, our sponsors, and all our volunteers. This is a great family event!”
Since 2002, the Sebastian Clambake Festival has raised more than $600,000 for local charities. The festival is a great place for food, drinks, and music performed by popular local bands.
