Joe & Vanessa Chiarino’s lives were completely turned upside down after their home on Crowberry Lane went up in smoke on August 20, 2020, after being struck by lightning.
“I think there is a saying that when God closes one door, he opens another, but after the fire, we didn’t think there was another door for us. We were so wrong,” Joe & Vanessa Chiarino’s told Sebastian Daily.
The Sebastian couple has genuinely been overwhelmed by all of the assistance, love, and support they have received since that tragic day.
“All of our wonderful neighbors came to us and offered us anything we needed. “They supported us spiritually, emotionally, and their generosity was overwhelming, the Chiarino’s stated.
Everyone from their neighbors to the local Red Cross has been there, helping the couple see that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
“Our thanks go out to so many! Thanks to the Indian River County Fire Rescue Fire Department and Police. Thanks to Jane for her call alerting us to the smoke on our roof, which got us moving. Thanks to Jennifer, Jesse, & Chandler for their amazing support. Jen has been a rock for us, and we would have been lost without her,” the couple added.
Their friends, neighbors, family, and even strangers thought of everything they might need to get through this life-altering time.
“Thanks to Mary & Mark, Kelly & George, for their wonderful dinners. Thanks to Brenda, Michelle, and their wonderful families. Thanks to all the girls at Best Western for making us feel at home. Thanks to all the people for their donations. Thanks to the Red Cross for all they did for us in our time of need. We Thank Everyone that has helped us, and words can’t express our gratitude. We will always have you in our prayers,” Joe & Vanessa Chiarino told Sebastian Daily.
