Sebastian Motorists Paying Higher Gas Prices

SEBASTIAN – Something is going on in Sebastian with the price of gas. Have you been paying more to fuel your vehicle here, compared to other towns?

Today, Florida’s gas price average is $2.61. The cheapest place to buy gas in Sebastian is Walmart for $2.63 a gallon. Sunoco on CR-512 is selling it for $2.79 a gallon. Cumberland Farms in Sebastian is $2.67.

We’re paying more than the Florida average.

Up the road in Micco, Cumberland Farms has it priced at $2.59. A couple of miles north from there is Sunoco and Chevron at $2.49. Palm Bay is selling gas at $2.49 a gallon at Citgo.

What about Vero Beach? Well, Chevron has it for $2.49, the same price in Grant and Palm Bay. Even the Cumberland Farms in Vero Beach is selling gas for $2.56 a gallon.

So, why does Sebastian have higher gas prices, when the towns north and south of us are cheaper? Why do we pay upwards of .30 cents more per gallon?

We’ve been watching these gas prices for the past three weeks, and Sebastian continues to pay more.

It’s cheaper for Sebastian residents to go to Micco and Grant when they need to fill up.
