Sebastian Police officers have been busy shopping for their annual “Shop with a Cop” event. Unfortunately, the children will not be shopping with the cops this year.
Due to COVID-19, “Shop with a Cop” will be a bit different this year. The Sebastian Police Department has chosen 80 children in need from Sebastian Elementary, Pelican Island Elementary, and Sebastian Charter Junior High.
Each of the participants has given the police department their Christmas wishlist and will receive $100 worth of gifts. Over the past few days, the Sebastian officers and people in the community like Terri Gardner from Seacoast Bank have been busy shopping and sorting through $8,000 worth of gifts.
On Wednesday, December 16, 2020, between 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, the Sebastian Police Department will be meeting with each child at Riverview Park to give them the items they purchased for them. To ensure social distancing, the children will arrive at different time slots based on their last name.
Thank you, Sebastian Police Department, for all of your hard work to make our community wonderful!
