The Sebastian River Middle School Madrigal Singers are set to travel up to Tennessee to make their Dollywood Debut on April 25, 2020. The students will be participating in a national Music In The Parks Competition hosted by the park as part of their annual Spring Madrigal Tour.
Their previous competitions have been held at Busch Gardens, Six Flags over Georgia, and Carowinds in Charlotte, NC. The Madrigal Singers have earned 1st Place and Superior Ratings at each of these annual competitions.
The 2020 Tour will include stops in Georgia, Kentucky, and Tennessee in addition to their Dollywood Performance.
“It is so rewarding for these students to have an opportunity to represent themselves, their families, and SRMS Choir on the National Stage. Seeing their faces light up when they get to visit and learn about cultural landmarks while on the road is such a beneficial thing for them,” director, Ethan Kinkle told Sebastian Daily. “Each year we try to offer the students something new and enriching that they can then take with them for the rest of their lives,” added Kinkle.
The Choir hopes community business and resident support will help them reach their goals. Tour Sponsorship Information will be available in the coming weeks.
“These kids are so invested in getting better each and every day, and there really is no limit to their talent, and the things they can achieve,” Kinkle says.
