The Sebastian River High School Varsity Football Squad is set to compete in the SSAA Atlantic Coast Championship at Shark Stadium on Thursday, November 2, 2023, starting at 7:00 pm.
Holding the top position in the SSAA conference for five consecutive weeks, the Sharks are gearing up to face the team from Paxon School for Advanced Studies, hailing from Jacksonville.
With this season marking Coach Tyrone Perry’s 6th year as the Head Coach for the Sharks and his three-decade tenure at Sebastian River High School, he’s eager for his team to clinch the victory.
“This is where we thought we could be with the move, knowing the caliber of teams we played. We are glad to be here, but we have to finish the script. We’re not just glad to be here; we want to win. Teams aren’t remembered for getting to a championship, theyre remembered for being the champion,” Perry told Sebastian Daily.
Earning a spot in the Championships holds immense significance for Team Captains Rox Reinman and Patrick Hamilton.
“Means everything four years of hard, grueling work just for it all to end the way we always wanted it to going into a championship,” Reinman stated.
“It’s an amazing feeling after many of the challenges we have faced through our four years playing football to potentially end it all as champions,” Hamilton stated.
The Sharks urge the community to fill the stands this Thursday and wear blue attire as a display of support!
