Emmy Em, a professional skydiver, is asking for help in locating her parachute. On December 28, 2020, around 12:30 pm, she was attempting her 406th jump from Skydive Sebastian.
She had her first tandem on August 15, 2015; Monday was her first cutaway.
“I was put into spins and was over an area that wasn’t safe to land. So I chopped/cut away my main canopy at 2500 ft to give me enough air clearance for a safe landing. I landed safely back at the DZ,” Em told Sebastian Daily.
When I asked Em if it was scary for her response was, “No, we are trained to respond to a malfunction of our main canopy. Reserve canopies have to be repacked every 180 days by a rigger. The reserve is designed to open quickly within a couple of hundred feet.”
What to do if you come across Em’s Parachute
If you find the parachute pictured, call the drop zone at Skydive Sebastian, and they will come to remove it. (772) 388-5672.
Skydive Sebastian
Skydive Sebastian, the drop zone, has a cafe called the Zoo Bar where non-skydivers can have some food, watch the skydivers land, and maybe even sign up for a tandem! Call (772) 388-5672 for more information.
