On Monday, the Boys & Girls Club in Sebastian hosted its grand reopening, complete with a ceremony.
Last year, the club closed its doors due to staffing issues and the pandemic. However, they are back, and Sebastian Vice Mayor Fred Jones was part of the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“It was truly an honor for me to be part of the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the grand reopening of this wonderful club. Our kids went to the Sebastian Boys and Girls Club after school growing up,” Jones told Sebastian Daily.
“The Boys and Girls Club has innovative quality programs designed to empower youth to excel in school and lead healthy and productive lives,” Jones added.
Sebastian Boys & Girls Club, located behind the Sebastian Police Department and City Hall, opened its doors in 2006. It features an education/technology center, art room, multipurpose/game room, teen room, a large outdoor basketball court, a playground, and ample green space for outdoor activities.
The Sebastian Club is located at 1415 Friendship Lane. For more information, call (772)299-7449.
