Join the Women’s Center of Brevard for Elevate HER, a heart-pounding skydiving fundraiser on October 12th, 2024, at Skydive Sebastian! This event takes flight during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, raising crucial funds and awareness for survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, and sexual assault.
For over 49 years, the Women’s Center has been a beacon of hope, helping individuals rebuild after trauma. They offer comprehensive services like emergency housing, counseling, advocacy, and prevention education – all empowering survivors to transition towards a self-sufficient life.
Elevate HER showcases courageous community members taking a leap, both literally and figuratively, symbolizing the survivor’s journey to reclaim their lives. Participants aim to raise $5,000 each, with a collective goal of $100,000 to support the Center’s mission of fostering Health, Empowerment, and Resilience.
“We are thrilled to combine the excitement of skydiving with such an important cause,” said Nicole Richards, the Center’s Community Relations Manager.
“Elevate HER represents the courage it takes for survivors to leave abusive situations and begin their journey toward healing and independence. Every dollar raised will help fund the life-changing programs that allow survivors to thrive,” Richards added.
Funds from Elevate HER directly benefit the Center’s programs, supporting over 3,000 individuals and providing more than 56,000 services last year alone. Survivors completing these programs are 85% less likely to return to abusive situations, highlighting the long-lasting impact.
Beyond raising awareness, Elevate HER offers an unforgettable experience! Get ready for helicopter rides, a DJ, parachutes, food, drinks, and a photo booth – it’s guaranteed to be a blast! Spectators are welcome to cheer on participants and purchase tickets online.
The Women’s Center of Brevard encourages the community to be a part of this exhilarating event. Donate, sponsor, or attend Elevate HER – every contribution helps ensure survivors have the resources they need to rebuild their lives.
