The 2024 Vero Beach Air Show has been awarded the prestigious title of “Civilian Show of the Year” by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. This remarkable achievement recognizes the outstanding efforts of the local community, volunteers, and sponsors who came together to create a truly unforgettable aviation experience.
“We were beyond thrilled to receive this honor,” said Rob Lucas, President, of the Vero Beach Air Show. “It reflected the hard work and passion of everyone involved, from our devoted volunteers to the businesses and organizations that supported us year after year.”
Held from May 3-5 at the Vero Beach Regional Airport, the air show captivated audiences with a thrilling lineup of aerial performances.
Highlights included the U.S. Air Force A-10C Thunderbolt II Demo Team showcasing the raw power of the “Warthog,” civilian acrobatic performers dazzling the crowd with breathtaking stunts, and of course, the world-renowned Blue Angels demonstrating their unparalleled precision and teamwork.
Beyond the spectacular aerial displays, the Vero Beach Air Show, organized by Vero Beach Air Show, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, demonstrated a strong commitment to giving back to the community. Proceeds from the event were distributed to several local charities, including the Veterans Council of Indian River County, the Exchange Club of Indian River, the Exchange Club of Vero Beach, and H.A.L.O. No-Kill Rescue. Each organization received a generous $15,000 donation at a special ceremony held on September 12th at Riverside Theatre.
The success of the 2024 event has paved the way for the Blue Angels’ highly anticipated return to Vero Beach in 2026. Mark their calendars for the next show scheduled for May 15-17, 2026.
The Vero Beach Air Show has become a beloved tradition, bringing the community together to celebrate the wonders of flight and support worthy causes. With its continued dedication to excellence and community engagement, the future of the Vero Beach Air Show looks brighter than ever.
