VERO BEACH – The Vero Beach Art Club (VBAC) has named two high school seniors as the recipients of its 2025 Student Scholarship Awards.
This year’s winners are Betsy Perez and Summer Flinn who were chosen for their remarkable skill, passion, and commitment to pursuing careers in the arts.
Betsy Perez, a senior at Vero Beach High School, dreams of a career in animation and character design. Her imaginative designs and dedication to her craft have secured her a spot at the University of Central Florida (UCF), where she will further hone her skills.
Summer Flinn, a senior at Sebastian River High School, has her sights set on cinematographer and photographer. Flinn has already earned acceptance into three colleges, including the prestigious Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, Georgia.
Each student will receive a $2,000 scholarship to help fund their artistic education. The funds will be sent directly to the financial aid offices of their chosen schools, covering essentials like tuition, books, or supplies. For Flinn and Perez, this support is a crucial step toward turning their creative ambitions into reality.
“The Vero Beach Art Club is honored to support these talented young artists as they embark on their creative journeys,” said Britney Melchiori, VBAC Communications Manager. “We were incredibly impressed by their artistic vision and dedication, and we are excited to see how their futures unfold.”
The VBAC remains committed to fostering the arts in the community by providing scholarships, outreach programs, and artistic opportunities for students and emerging artists.
