Throughout the month of November, Vero Beach Kamp will be matching money donated to them for the Sebastian Police Department’s “Shop with a Cop” event.
They would like to invite anyone interested in donating to come to their public walk held every Monday at 11:00 am at the campgrounds located at 8850 North US Hwy 1 in Sebastian. They ask that everyone stop in the office to sign in as a guest.
“Shop with a Cop”
The “Shop with a Cop” program was established in 1989 by a small group of officers who literally passed around a hat and collected money to take a single child in need shopping for toys.
Now the program helps to build positive relationships between officers and children. Every year, law enforcement agencies come together and donate their time to give children in their communities a Christmas to remember.
Food Drive for Treasure Coast Food Bank
In addition to matching donations for “Shop with a Cop” through November, Vero Beach Kamp will host a food drive for the Treasure Coast Food Bank. They would like to encourage the community to bring nonperishable food items to their office to help families in need for the upcoming holiday season.
