VERO BEACH – Of all the places in the world where George W. Bush could visit, one stop during his book tour is right here in Vero Beach.
The former president will be at The Vero Beach Book Center on Wednesday, April 26, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Tickets are $35 and must be purchased in advance at the book center. The store will be closed during the book signing.
The book center will sell 1,500 event wristbands, which includes a copy of the former president’s book. The wristbands must be purchased in advance. None will be sold on April 26, the day of the book signing.
The book, “Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Cheif’s Tribute to America’s Warriors,” features oil paintings of wounded veterans done by President George W. Bush. They are accompanied by stories of how each person dealt with their war injuries.
“I wanted to draw attention not only to their courage but the fact that they contributed once and they need to know they can contribute again,” Bush said in a statement.
Those participating in the event will get to walk by and briefly meet George W. Bush as he signs books. Since parking is limited, carpooling is recommended.
Unfortunately, no cameras or cell phones will be permitted in the store during the signing.
All proceeds from the book will be donated to the George W. Bush Presidential Center.
