A 49-year-old Barefoot Bay woman was arrested Tuesday by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office in connection with the death of her mother, Cheryl Meurer, 69, at their Seagull Drive residence.
On Wednesday, Kelly Tinsley was charged with Manslaughter Reclassified with the use of a Weapon. She is currently detained at the Brevard County Jail Complex, with bail set at $750,000.
This case came to light early Tuesday morning when deputies were dispatched to the home around 5:15 a.m., following a report of an injured woman. At the scene, they discovered Ms. Meurer deceased inside the home, having sustained multiple stab wounds.
After collecting evidence and conducting interviews, investigators have concluded that on the evening of January 8, Ms. Tinsley and Ms. Meurer were involved in a physical altercation that tragically resulted in Ms. Meurer’s stabbing death.
