A man was arrested at the Trulieve marijuana dispensary in Sebastian after causing a disturbance and engaging in aggressive behavior due to long wait times.
Witnesses reported that Glen Burr, a 71-year-old from Vero Beach, became agitated, screaming, and cursing at the staff and fellow patients in the waiting room.
Despite attempts by another patient to calm the situation, Burr’s anger escalated, and he even took a patient’s sunglasses and broke them, valued at $250.
The office manager intervened, restraining Burr and removing him from the facility as they called the Sebastian Police Department to the dispensary.
Officers arrived and reviewed video evidence that supported the witness accounts.
During questioning, Burr admitted to taking the glasses but denied physically pushing or striking other patients.
Nevertheless, he was charged with Battery on a Person over 65, Petit Theft in the 1st Degree, and Criminal Mischief Damage of over $200.
Burr was released the following day after posting a $1,500 bond. The court also issued an order prohibiting him from returning to Trulieve or having any contact with the victim.
His next court appearance is scheduled for July 6, 2023.
