On Saturday, a 62-year-old man was arrested for allegedly punching his girlfriend in the face after a night of drinking.
Jesus Alejandro Suarez, of Grant-Valkaria, was charged with Battery Domestic Violence. The victim told deputies they’ve been living together in a camper trailer for seven months.
The victim told deputies she was out with Suarez, but things turned ugly when they returned to the camper at approximately 2:00 a.m.
“When the two got home, Mr. Suarez became verbally abusive during an argument and degraded [the victim],” the deputy said.
The victim tried to stick up for herself, and the argument turned from verbal to physical. Suarez began to push the victim, ordering her out of the camper.
When the victim told Suarez she was not leaving; he punched her “with a closed fist.” In fear, the victim curled into a ball inside the camper.
“Mr. Suarez then told [the victim] if she called the police or told anyone that he would ‘bury’ her in the back yard,” according to the affidavit.
Deputies observed a large bruise on the victim’s upper right eye, where Suarez allegedly punched her.
Suarez was transported to the Brevard County Jail. He is still being held on $750 bail.
The victim has since moved out of the camper.
