VERO BEACH – Murder suspect Pedro Torres was found dead Monday as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was wanted by the Indian River County Sheriff’s Department, as they believed he killed his wife.
Vicky Torres, 45, was found dead on Sunday at 7:45 a.m in the couples home in Vero Lake Estates. Since then, authorities have been searching for Padro Torres.
On Monday, his body was found around 9:30 am, inside a green 2011 Toyota Sienna minivan at 1905 N. Flamingo Road, by the Sunrise Police Department. This area was shut down, for several hours, as police officers and SWAT investigated.
This couple had three children together, a 5-year old, an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old.
Authorities were sure they would find the father of three in Broward County, as his wives family lived there, and he frequently visited the area.
“Tragically, we have experienced another domestic violence homicide in our county. We know that domestic violence is a crime that spans all socioeconomic boundaries,” stated Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar.
“Unbelievable… I remember him…As a very nice person,” stated Michelle Bolden on our Facebook page.
