According to the Sebastian Police Department, the subject who held a gun while knocking on the door of a home has been identified. Police said it appears to be an isolated incident and the investigation is still ongoing.
“If something like this happens, we ask people to call the police immediately, provide as much identifying information as possible, seek a safe location away from windows and doors, and do not confront the individual,” Captain Tim Wood told Sebastian Daily.
Police have not released the individuals name at this time.
On Monday, an armed man knocked on a resident’s door in the 100 block of Aetna Street in Sebastian. When there was no answer, he rang the Ring Doorbell, which told him no one was home and to leave a message.
The armed subject told the Ring recording device that he was looking for his dog. A person answered back through the Ring device, informing the subject that he was at the wrong house. The armed male then answered “ok” and walked away.
Sebastian Daily will continue with updates when more information is available.
