A man was arrested Friday after he allegedly stole materials from a construction site from the Lakes at St. Sebastian, a new housing development on Micco Road.
While en route, a Brevard County deputy spotted a vehicle that matched one seen at the construction site with materials on the roof traveling east on Micco Road. So, the deputy conducted a traffic stop.
The driver was identified as William Dierdorf of Micco. He told the deputy the lumber and materials were placed near a dumpster, so he thought it was trash.
“The lumber came from the side of the residence under construction,” a deputy said.
The deputy said Dierdorf entered a posted construction site and stole lumber.
Dierdorf, 60, was charged with Grand Theft and transported to the Brevard County Jail.
