MICCO – When a deputy spotted to a stranded motorist, he offered the woman a courtesy ride back to her residence.
“I advised her a search of her purse would be necessary prior to her entering my vehicle, to which she acknowledged and consented,” the Brevard County deputy said.
Marie Agnes Gabbard, 59, placed her purse on the hood of the deputy’s cruiser.
As the deputy searched the purse, he observed a small glass bottle with a white crystal substance.
“I utilized a field drug test kit for the crystalline substance, which yielded a positive presumptive result for methamphetamine,” the deputy said.
Gabbard told the deputy that she bought the meth for $20 in Grant, and she’s been smoking meth for the past six months.
She was arrested and transported to the Brevard County Jail. Bond was set at $2,500.
