Thieves Posing As Utility Workers Steal From Vero Beach Home

VERO BEACH – The Vero Beach Police Department is looking for two men who posed as utility workers to gain access to a home in the 2800 block of Indian River Boulevard.

At around noon, on Wednesday, the twosome knocked on the victim’s apartment door and stated that the upstairs apartment had a leak, and they needed to check her apartment for damages.

After she had allowed them inside, one man distracted her as the other went into her bedroom and rummaged through her belongings, leaving with an envelope full of cash.

The men are described as white, in their 50s, approximately 5 feet, 4 inches tall and 135 pounds. One was wearing a dark blue uniform shirt with no logos or emblems.
