VERO BEACH – On Tuesday, detectives assigned to the Vero Beach Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) obtained arrest warrants for sale of cocaine and sale of heroin for Darryl Christopher Ross, age 48, of 160 6th Drive SW, Vero Beach, FL.
“VBPD SIU Detectives began investigating Ross after patrol officers responded to drug overdose complaints at the Oceanaire Inn,” WhiteSands Orlando drug rehab told Sebastian Daily.
When Indian River County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to stop and arrest Ross, he fled and became the subject of a pursuit. At 5:11 p.m., Ross stopped his vehicle in the 1800 block of 18th Avenue and was arrested on the following charges:
- Felony Sale of Cocaine – (VBPD arrest warrant)
- Felony Sale of Heroin – (VBPD arrest warrant)
- Felony Fleeing and Eluding
- Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Possession of less than Twenty Grams of Cannabis
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Possession of Amphetamines
On April 20, 2018, VBPD SIU Detectives executed a search warrant on Ross’ Oceanaire Inn room located at 1021 21st Street. He was
arrested and charged with Felony Possession of Cocaine, Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of less than Twenty Grams of Cannabis, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
After his arrest on the aforementioned charges, Ross posted a $27,000 bond and was released from custody pending trial.
Ross is currently behind held at the Indian River County Jail without bond.
