Fat Tuesday, also known as Mardi Gras, is the big finale of the carnival season, celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday, which marks the start of Lent in the Christian calendar. It’s a day rooted in history, where people let loose and indulge before the 40 days of fasting and reflection begin.
The name “Fat Tuesday” comes from the tradition of eating rich, fatty foods to use up ingredients like butter, eggs, and sugar that were off-limits during Lent. Across the world, especially in places like New Orleans, it’s a time for parades, colorful costumes, and parties filled with music and dancing. At Pareidolia Brewing Company, they’re bringing that same energy with a local twist.

While the music keeps the party going, the brewery is rolling out a special food menu at 4:00 p.m., packed with classic New Orleans dishes. Attendees can dig into hearty options like Jambalaya, a spicy rice dish loaded with sausage, chicken, and seafood, or Red Beans and Rice, a creamy, flavorful staple of Creole cooking. For sandwich lovers, the Muffuletta Sandwich—stacked with meats, cheese, and a tangy olive spread—will be available alongside Gumbo, a rich stew filled with veggies, spices, and your choice of protein.
