According to Florida Health Secretary and Surgeon General Scott Rivkees, Floridians who have completed their COVID-19 vaccination can stop wearing masks in public.
However, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said people should continue to wear masks inside businesses, and people who are fully vaccinated should wear them outdoors only in a crowd.
About 34% of all Floridians have been fully vaccinated. Rivkees also noted that scientific studies show that the COVID-19 vaccines protect individuals from COVID-19 and diminish hospitalizations and deaths caused by the virus.
Florida still has a sufficient supply of COVID-19 vaccines to provide an opportunity for every eligible Floridian who wants to be vaccinated.
