A hotel worker for Captain Hirams has tested positive for COVID-19, according to resort president Will Collins.
“We learned about the positive test yesterday afternoon and have since communicated with all associates who may have had contact, removed them from our schedules, and asked them to get tested. None of them have reported having any symptoms, but we feel that operating with extreme caution is important at this time,” Collins said.
As a result, the Captain Hirams Hotel will be closed for 48 hours. Collins said they do not plan to reopen the hotel until they can ensure their team and guests’ safety.
The bars and restaurant at Captain Hirams Resort are fine and remain open. It was an isolated incident in the hotel.
All hotel employees have been sent for COVID-19 testing as a precautionary measure, and they will keep all hotel employees off the property until they get their test results back or if the 14-day quarantine time expires.
Again, this did not impact the Captain Hirams bar or the Blackfins restaurant.
