This is an update on coronavirus cases in Indian River County and Brevard County, Florida.
Governor Ron DeSantis announced Tuesday that the number of new coronavirus cases in Florida may be flattening.
“Fortunately, data suggests that we are flattening the curve,” Governor Ron DeSantis said in the announcement. DeSantis also announced a task force to look at reopening state on or after May 1, 2020.
“It’s the education. It’s the quality of life. It’s exercise and health, mental health,” he said.
However, health officials ask residents not to let their guard down, and to continue practicing social distancing, staying at home, and wearing masks when in the stores.
Also, state health department officials are not providing us with the number of “recoveries” in Indian River and Brevard counties. We’ve asked for this information repeatedly. This is what they sent us.
“The State Department of Health does not currently measure ‘recovery,’ and doesn’t expect to have such a designation anytime in the near future,” officials said.
