Two doctors who started the Vero Women’s Care medical practice will offer a free community forum on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 6 p.m. hosted at the Christ the King Lutheran Church. The church is located at 1301 Sebastian Blvd. in Sebastian.
Doctors Kristie Crawford and Lindsey Bruce opened their dream practice in January to help patients meet all their gyn-related healthcare needs in one place.
The Vero Women’s Care medical practice offers a variety of female-centered medical help beyond the typical gynecological services, said Dr. Crawford, including minimally invasive surgery (with robotics), primary care medicine, psychology, pelvic floor therapy, nutrition, and aesthetics.
“We have prided ourselves in taking time to hear our patients, to offer longer visit times to help them figure out what their concerns may be. We want to help women through the different transitions of their life in terms of gyn,” explained Dr. Crawford.
“We want to get back to when you were able to actually talk with your doctor. The amazing, unique thing is we are also able to talk with each other,” said Dr. Crawford. “Each other” includes not only doctors Crawford and Bruce, but also the other doctors and specialists at Vero Women’s Care such as Dr. Christina Namvar, (DO in family medicine), Alan Ward Hurst (nationally credentialed registered dietitian), Dr. B. Lynn M. Williams, (family psychiatric nurse practitioner and a clinical psychologist), Dr. Michelle Ulrich (doctor of physical therapy), Sara Rothma (ARNP specializing in aesthetics such as neurotoxins, lip enhancements, and scar repair), and Meredith Kitchell (physician assistant).
She may tell a patient, “I don’t know what’s going on, but let’s get you to this specialist.” She adds, “We have been able to help patients get on the right track for a lot of things.”
They have hospital privileges at Cleveland Clinic Indian River, Sebastian River Medical Center, and at Cleveland Clinic Tradition.
Dr. Bruce is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and serves on several hospital committees at Sebastian River Medical Center, including acting Vice President of the Medical Executive Committee and the Credentialing Committee. She specializes in minimally invasive gynecological surgery and has been robotically trained with da Vinci surgery since 2008.
Kristy Crawford, DO, FACOOG is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist. her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey. After residency, Dr. Crawford joined Mountain View OB/GYN in Hanover, Pennsylvania, where she practiced for five years. During that time, she was also a laborist at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, Maryland. She and her family moved to Vero Beach in 2016. She has been providing OB/GYN care to Indian River, St. Lucie, and Martin Counties for more than six years.
